ENROLMENT PROCEDURE
If you are a Complete Beginner
Your can enrol in our Beginners 1 or our French for Travellers course. You are not required to sit a test to enrol in these classes.
If you have studied French previously
whether at the Alliance Française (six months ago or more), or elsewhere, we need first to assess your level, to ensure you are enrolled in a class that suits you best. Please complete our Proficiency Assessment (free of charge, no obligation)
Once your level has been assessed, or if you have have studied French with the Alliance Française de Melbourne in the last 6 months, you can enrol either :
- Online with our Secure Online Booking Form
- Over the telephone on 03 9525 3463
- By downloading the Enrolment Form and mailing it to Alliance Française de Melbourne, PO Box 2042, ST KILDA WEST VIC 3182 or faxing it on 03 9525 5064 or popping in at 51 Grey Street ST KILDA during our opening hours.

Payment can be made in cash and EFTPOS at the desk or by money order, cheque,
credit card , at the desk, by mail, by fax, over
the telephone or online at Secured
Online Enrolment Form.
CONCESSIONS
A 10% DISCOUNT on Adult Course fees applies
to the following (no discount on school students
or children course fees):
- aged pension(*), unemployed(*), disability(*),
sole parent(*), full time tertiary student(*),
French teachers(*);
- the second (and subsequent) member within
a family unit enrolled in the same term;
- Alliance française’s members;
(*) enclose or present documentation for these
concessions. Please note that only one discount
applies per person.
A 5% OFF THE REGULAR RATE for Adult Course if you (no discount on school students
or children course fees):
- enrol before 16 Jan 2010 for the Express Course starting 23 Jan 2010;
- enrol before 23 Jan 2010 for the Term Courses starting 01 Feb 2010.

CONDITIONS
FEES
Enrolment is not confirmed unless payment is made in
full before the first lesson of the session.
Any student
who has paid for a course and who withdraws at least 5
working days prior to the commencement of that
course, will be entitled to a refund less 20% processing
fee. Applications for refund must be addressed in
writing to the Director.
No refund or transfer can be
made if a student cancels his/her enrolment less than 5
working days prior to the commencement of that
course or once the term has started.
The Alliance Française cannot be held responsible for
students’ changes in work commitments or personal
circumstances.
Please note that missed classes cannot
be refunded or transferred.
Course fees cannot be
transferred to private lessons. Fees do not include
textbooks unless otherwise specified.
All prices are
inclusive of GST.
PRIVATE TUITION
A one-working-day notice is
required to cancel a private tuition appointment.
Otherwise a one-hour fee will be charged.
CLASSES
The Alliance Française reserves the right to cancel or
reorganise classes.Minimum class size is 5. For classes
with 4 students, the course fee remains the same but
the duration of the course is reduced. (20h courses to 15h, 18h courses to
13h30mn, 15h courses to 12h).
The smaller class size allows more personal attention
and the course program remains identical and will be
covered at a faster pace. If a fifth student enrols, the
class duration will resume to normal.
In case of a
cancellation, students may request a transfer to another
class, a credit note, or a full refund of fees paid.
Please
note : classes will not be held on Victorian public
holidays but will be rescheduled to a suitable time
within the session.
